How to synchronize your password while remote

Important Information

With the VPN Start Before Login functionality removed you will need to go through the following steps to synchronize your network password to your computer after updating it while not in the office or while connected to the VPN.

A surefire way to know if your password is out of sync is if your computer login password is different than your VPN password, if they are the same then no action needs to be taken.

Synchronizing your password can resolve many password related issues in the Office Suite such as Outlook or Teams requesting your password. It can also resolve issues related to shared network folders not connecting.

Note: If you have forgotten your old password or are unable to use it after changing it using the SSPR or F5 portal while remote you will need to connect your computer to the city network via ethernet cable or docking station in a city building and logging in with the new password

Connect to the VPN

Connect to the VPN using the FCAD group. The VPN address is coffcvpn.fcgov.com



You will be prompted to log in using your @fcgov email address and current password



After entering your password you'll be met with an Approve sign in request screen which will prompt you to approve the request on your authenticator app or enter your MFA token code




Lock your computer

Lock your computer by clicking the Start icon, click the User icon, and click Lock



Or you can lock your computer by holding down the Windows key and pressing the L key on your keyboard


Sign back in

After you've locked the computer you can sign back in using the same password you used to connect to the VPN and your password is now synchronized on your computer
