Mandatory Windows 11 Upgrade – Action Required by July 15

As part of our commitment to maintaining a secure and reliable technology environment, the City is requiring all employees to upgrade to Windows 11.

Note: Your computer may have already been updated! More than 75% of our computers are already on Windows 11, and we now need to complete the remaining 25% before Oct. 10 to stay compliant with security standards.

For the past two months, employees have had the opportunity to upgrade voluntarily. That option remains available through July 15. If you haven’t upgraded by then, Windows 11 will be automatically installed based on the schedule below.

Automatic Upgrade Schedule (After 5 p.m.)

July 15 – 215 N. Mason St.

July 29 – Community Services, Parks, Recreation

Aug. 12 – Housing Catalyst; Connexion Broadband; City Hall (west); Economic Health, Sustainability Services -Environmental Services, Social Sustainability, Urban Renewal Authority; Planning, Development & Transportation (PDT)

Aug. 26 – Police Services (IT will verify upgradable systems and move systems in sensitive areas to the “exceptions” update.)

Sept. 9 – Utilities

Sept. 16 – All other areas

Sept. 23 through Oct. 10 – Exceptions
